CanalSide

Well, call me Pollyanna Columbia all you want, but to the extent I see a pittance of difference between the two, I prefer Canalside. Besides, on my way to work this morning the painting continued, with ladders leaning against different buildings and clear plastic draped across things they don't want to get paint on.

They have painted several of the bay areas the bright rust color on the Hampton Street side of the building closest to the canal. Looking good....

YES! I was just about to post this. Color has come to CanalSide. :) I'm sure they were planning on painting those panels all along. I apologize for pooh-pooh'ing it prematurely -- it looks great. A number of the building features are being painted that bright rust color, and they are adding a coat of mossy green/grey color to some other areas. Very nice.

EDIT: Added some pics. They aren't the best quality... took them with my phone, and it was a really overcast.

I cannot call it a nasty shade of orange at all, and disdaining Clemson as I do, I would be crying foul if I thought that someone involved in Columbia's newest development were trying to go CU on us. It just makes me interested to see what the final product will be when they finish, as they obviously will be painting more, what with the lifts and plastic that are currently all around the other buildings.

Green it is, olive-lime green. They painted the bay areas visible along Hampton the rust color and now they're painting the bay areas on the building along the Taylor-Hampton connector an olive-lime green color. It looks like we're all just going to have to reserve judgment until they are finished.
