I wanted to congratulate "The Pantry," based in Cary, of becoming the Triangle's second fortune 500!

The Pantry is the operator of the Kangaroo markets and the largest operator in the southeast. I wonder what companies will grow to become fortune 500s next??? Certainly Red Hat will eventually.

Well Redhat has announced that they expect revenues to top 3 billion within 5 years. Looking at the fortune 500 list, the last place one on the list has revenues of 4.3 . That being said, we could very well see a home grown fortune 500 within the next 8 years or so!

Red hat has just had a new milestone of surpassing 1 Billion in annual revenue and is the first open-source software company to ever accomplish the feat. Raleigh can now say it is home to the world's first open-source billion-dollar company!
