There will be a number of house elections in 2012 and now new polls suggest that the democrats could take back the house in 2012. The reason? voters are tired of the back and forth fighting among democrats and republicans which has led to gridlock in Washington. The people they elected in 2010 haven't accomplished anything and instead of their focus being on jobs, their focus has been on cutting medicare. Voters are scared of the GOP's plan to cut medicare. Thats bad news for the GOP because when it comes to independent voters on social issues, they align themselves with democrats. When you add the "Obama Factor", that means a larger voter turnout among democrats and certain demographic voters who didn't show up at the polls in 2010. Obama wasn't on the ballot in 2010 and after recent events with killing Osama, his handling of Lybia and new job numbers, He shouldn't be too worried about getting re-elected.

Democrat beats a republican in a conservative district in a special house election.

This is just foreshadowing whats to come. Kathy Hochul, the democrat won because of the GOP's plan to cut medicare. It looks like The republicans are in trouble because if they continue down the path of trying to cut Medicare, the GOP is going to lose big time in congress during the 2012 election.
