Acadiana Tech Corridor

The University of Louisiana plans to create a technology-based economic corridor along Hwy 90 and Hwy 1, based in Lafayette. They mention a high concentration of engineers and other professionals in the areas along Hwy 90, how true is that? I always thought of Lafayette being the "tech" city in Louisiana but I'm not sure about the entire corridor.
