Rock City Marina and Yacht Club

Recommended Posts

The developer for the condo/marina has changed his plans and now he wants to build a marina and apartment complex east of the Clinton Library on the river. The development will include the marina, restaurant, city park and apartments. The marina will consist of 427 slips and there will be 193 apartment units. Construction is to start this year on the four phase development plan. The park would also include an extension of the River Trail.

How does this differ from the original plan?

Arkansas Business is reporting that this project is still a go and construction is waiting for the river to settle down. If this happens then the docks should be in place by Thanksgiving. Construction of the 168 unit Residence at Harbortown  would follow  next year  enhancing  the redevelopment going on in "East Village".

The first phase of the marina should open this summer.

The opening has been delayed until Spring 2019. The delay is being blamed on high water earlier this year.  The construction of all the slips should be completed before Christmas.

Right out of the chute, this looks like some pretty horrid "architecture"...ugh.

I'm not an architect but what is the appropriate architecture for a marina?  I'm just glad it's not a god-awful metal building.  I loathe metal buildings and they seem to be approved so easily by city commissions.
