I also didn't know that Greensboro is one of four cities in the world that has this state-of-the-art Omnisphere technology. Greensboro was the first city in the United States to use this technology.

I like the idea of Aquarium in the city, but shouldn't it be located in downtown Greensboro?

If it were up to me I would put it downtown next to the Childrens Museum in a mixed-use development on the old Duke Power site. I would also include a "true" IMAX theater with the project. But this will still be great for Greensboro, It will be the only aquarium in the central part of the state. I'm actually surprised that Charlotte hasn't built a major aquarium in uptown Charlotte.

The Natural Science Center of Greensboro has a new name and logo. It will be called The Greensboro Science Center....Aquarium-Museum-Zoo

The aquarium is the center's newest attraction along with an expanded zoo. It will be the only facility in North Carolina with a zoo, museum and aquarium. The center also has an OmniSphere Theater which is like a 3D dome IMAX. EPCOT at Disney World also has an OmniSphere Theater.

The projector in Greensboro's OmniSphere is called the Super MediaGlobe Projector II, and it's the first of its kind in the United States. There's four total in the world, three in Japan, one of them here in the United States here in Greensboro. It is the single strongest projection system, projector, ever manufactured.

The article probably means the first accredited inland aquarium in North Carolina. The Discovery Place has an aquarium section. By comparison I think the largest tank at the Discovery Place is 22,000 gallons. Carolina Sciquarium will have a tank over 100,000 gallons of water.
