Yes, concrete pedestal is only along Jones St. The wood framing starts with 1st floor all along the backside of the pedestal, as can partially be seen here:

I sure am glad the occupied units are wrapping the parking deck....I was worried at first, Lane St was doomed to be a dead street. 

Based on my many walks around town and the fact that I work next door to Elan, Elan, Lincoln, Edison are all very close to fully leased. Quite fuller than I thought they'd be right now at least. With only Metropolitan and the two Dillion buildings coming for new apartments, and later on 301 Hillsborough and Smokey Hollow, I'm wondering what'll be next. I don't really sense a declining interest in living downtown even at these high rental price points. I'm starting to think I might actually some sort of complete build out of downtown in my lifetime (whatever THAT is exactly...)

10 row home condos coming to 535 New Bern Ave from "Five Horizons Development".  Modern style fits with the 7 other modern homes within a one block radius.

As an aside they are being deeded as condos because the variance from the neighborhood conservation district overlay was denied meaning no "townhouses". So same shape of buildings. Different deeds and association bylaws.

Metropolitan aka the old Greyhouse site. It looks like thee parking deck is not going to be wrapped with apartments on this site? The rendering shows it wrapped on the other side so maybe just three sites? The deck is so ugly.

Yikes, yea looks like that isn't getting wrapped.  Maybe one day the 1/2 block to the east will get developed for a high rise and hide the deck.

I used to meet often on the low rise, pebble clad building immediately east of the parking deck....it houses the Local Government Commission and the Association of County Commissioners. I doubt they own the building so at some point I'd expect a developer to pry that area loose...the Reynolds would be my bet...

Kudos to Raleigh and the Complete Triangle CSA for its impressive. I do hope Wake county passes Meck Co soon , so that can be put to rest, We have accepted that we will no longer have those bragging rights. Oh well.

Im impressed with the surge in the 5-8 floor developments sprouting up around the Triangle. I love that NC has two power houses in regards to population, GDP, and in their own very different ways they are destination cities. Raleigh being the state capital with amazing museums and great shopping. Superb Universities all over the area.

Charlotte for its somewhat flashier side of high end shopping in all ways and its own museums and theaters. A vibrant uptown area with upwards of 15,000 within a couple of square miles.

First pic is a few more apartments (townhomes?) nearing completion around the corner from the pic in my previous post.  Last pic is a lot about a block over that has been cleared recently.  Not sure what's planned there.

Both projects are by Lambert Development. The finished stuff is Townhouses with all but 2 sold to date. The cleared lot has changed proposed site plans a time or two. I think Lambert is also doing a row of townhouses on Clark at Enterprise and I think I read about another spot too.
