Dynamik Design will be the architect

They have been very active in Nashville over the last several announcements. They have a nice portfolio and have been proposing some nice stuff. Glad to see another player in the city on the design side.

I'm still baffled what happened with One City. It quickly went from live, work, play to just live. The planned office space is now gone, except for the already built Microsoft office building. Seems like this would have been a good campus for Oracle

They still have two lots left (5 and Blox) and those two are more suited for office/mixed-use than 7 was. Plus with HCA nearby it already has that mixed-use feel.

The loss of height sucks though, 7 was supposed to be 15 stories (?). With the location they really have a chance to make an impact even with mid-rise buildings.

Its not hard to figure out. Its a matter of competition from other  Live, Work, Play  mixed use projects being built and announced around town. We can only support so many of those.

Plus the profits from just building these apartment buildings seems quite high. Look at the price Tapestry in Brentwood fetched recently.

Alliance has been granted a $1.22 million permit to begin construction of the Broadstone One City (7 stories,  261 units, internal garage on 1.6 acres on western edge of the complex). Pinnacle Bank has supplied a $44.3 million loan to get underway. Dynamic Design will be the architect; Catalyst Design is handling engineering. No word yet on official ground breaking, but it should be any day now.
