I wonder if this project is what is preventing the Knapp's Crossing Project from taking off?   Maybe some top tier retailers are playing a wait and see to make sure they are hanging their hat on the right development.  I have to hand it to CWD, they have done a great job of luring these first to market retailers. Either way it's good news for the city of Grand Rapids, as both developments are in the city limits.

Agreed- Seems like this is direct competition with Knapp's Crossing. CWD has landed a lot of big names in the last couple of years. I expect they will get some impressive names for this project.

I probably asked this before but what ever happened to the townhouse plans?

They split and transferred the property at the back half of 2500 Burton (along Inverness) to Townhomes at Breton Village LLC a few weeks back [http://grdowntowncondos.com/townhomes_breton_village/].  So it seems like they're actually happening.  I can't believe I forgot to post the renderings and floor plans - complete with roof deck over looking trash and loading docks.  @x99 where you at?!

Sounds like Breton Village is getting a Bobcat Bonnie's, which the owner is a GR native and they have several of them in Detroit area now.

I assume this is where Houlihans used to be.  I checked out the menu, seems to have the typical midwest gourmet mac-n-cheese type menu.  Prices are decent though. All of their entrees are under $15.00.

Sounds like Design Within Reach is moving to GR, @ Breton Village. It seems like it's definitely one of those "prestige retailers" people brag about having in their city (and makes sense, since Herman Miller/Miller Knoll owns it). I always like to say it's more "Design Outta Reach", but should be a good addition to Breton Village:
