What is it with Philadelphia restaurants opening branches in Nashville? CTH has two locations in Philadelphia and one that recently-ish opened in DC. This is the second announcement this month of a small-chain place originating in PHL that's opening in Nashville after Federal Donuts, which seems a little bit bizarre to me.

What's weird to us is Southern Land Co. wants to build a giant tower in Downtown Philly. Where is our giant tower from them??

From my vantage point at the top of Demonbreun in Cummins Station, it appears that the crane is coming down. At the very least, it's a lot shorter than it used to be...

Looking from WKRN's live cam it appears to be gone.

From The Tennessean:

Pre-leasing is underway for The SoBro, the 32-story, 313-unit apartment tower by Chicago-based Magellan Development Group and locally-based Giarratana Nashville that's expected to open in October at 205 Demonbreun St.

Applications are being accepted online or at a pre-leasing center in Suite 250 of the Fifth Third Center office building at 424 Church St. Cory Owak, most recently leasing director of Magellan's Coast Apartments in Chicago, was hired as property manager for The SoBro.

Units at The SoBro tower, which is billed as Nashville's tallest rental apartment building, will range in size from studio to three-bedroom with monthly rents from $1,600 to $5,400. Amenities will include driftwood plank flooring, exposed concrete ceilings and quartz kitchen countertops.

The apartments will feature gas cook tops, quartz countertops, 10-foot ceilings, and Nest thermostats. Other building amenities will include a downtown-view amenity deck with a grill and fire pit, a clubroom with a gourmet kitchen, bike storage and repair, a fitness center, dedicated parking, and multiple options for internet and cable providers, including Google Fiber.

Does anyone know if all the stuff on the roof is going to be left exposed?

What "stuff" are you referring to? Can someone post a recent photo?

The mechanical penthouse and mechanical crane will more than likely be visible to some extreme; I don't remember a decorative parapet from the renderings, but there could have been one.
