Not only is it a nice article, I really like the picture of Nashville's skyline.

I like it too, but it took me a minute to determine when the photo was taken. I'm not incredibly familiar with the skyline yet, but with SoBro being hidden, I found it hard to tell. Hopefully 505 will change that!

A 12-page bonus section in today's Tennessean entitled "#New Nashville: Music City Is Hot. It's one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. Read what that means to the people who live and work here."

http://www.tennessean.com/story/insider/extras/2016/03/26/nashville-has-exciting-growth-uncertainty-city/81109814/

The online version features many additional photos and video clips not in the article, but does not feature these three shots from the paper edition (by the way, the Key to the aerial map in the third photo below has mislabeled several structures):

The lineup of pics of buildings proposed or under construction has several glaring mistakes! Wrong Sobro tower pic! Wrong JWMarriott pic! Wrong Marriott tri brand pic! Geez...do they even have editors & proofreaders any more?

Amazing

Tennessean has had some seriously half-arsed reporting for a long, long time now. There is the occasional jewel, but journalistic excellence isn't the first thing that comes to mind when I pick one up.

Yeah, it's pretty pitiful when we are all pointing out the multiple errors that were missed by someone getting paid to do just that.  I'm quite sure that most if not all of us would be able to do a better job on these types of stories than their usual crew.

Sadly, Gannett, the Tennessean's owner, now dominates all major metro areas in TN except for Chattanooga: http://www.nashvillescene.com/pitw/archives/2016/03/18/big-media-grab-flagged-in-california-while-gannett-builds-tn-monopoly

Way to go Chatty... holding our own... and not surprisingly, the best newspaper in the state.

Even worse, they bought out many of the papers that our smaller towns had and replaced them with their watered-down local editions written by outsiders.

And so it begins.  The Titans org is starting to layout their narrative.  Who wants to be in a couple years when/if the Titans start to emerge from the wilderness they'll start asking for a new stadium or threaten to move.

LOL... yes.  We are getting a Westin in the old "Gold Building" that used to be the Blue Cross Blue Shield of TN HQ building, which was designed by Robert Portman in 1970. I drove by last week but did not see anything like construction going on.  Yesterday's TFP noted that it was one of the largest construction permits pulled last year ($15MM??). Noticed it was also the Defoor brothers who have developed shopping centers around the area. It should be a really cool hotel if they keep the same sort of floor layouts.
