The Washington Post is reporting that the RNC will have their gathering in Jacksonville Aug. 24-27, thus eliminating Nashville from contention.

John/Jim had little to do with us not getting the convention. It's likely a money thing and Tennessee is solidly red, Florida may be more in play hence getting this.

More racing news popping up in the NBJ today (originally in Sports Business Daily). For those who have their hearts set on a city course race, IndyCar is looking to promote a possible Music City Grand Prix. No indication if it is a revival of the 2017 venture by former Pocono Raceway President Joe Mattioli and former Baker Curb Racing CEO Matt Crews, but the interest is there.

IMHO opinion i really do not see this happening in the next couple years due to the amount of money IndyCar looks for from promoters and host cities. Look up the proposed Boston Grand Prix and the ultimately catastrophe that it was (never happened).

Why are some ITT expressing apprehension regarding peaceful protesting? Is it residual anxiety from the destructive protests in late May? To my knowledge, Nashville's protests have been peaceful since then.

Perhaps the potential risk for more COVID cases given the tight proximity of people? (Personally it doesn't bother me, but I know a couple OCD people who have expressed that concern)

QTC Management expects to grow to more than 400 employees by 2025.  They plan to invest $5 million in their new outpost at 100 Centerview Dr. off of Stewarts Ferry Pike (east of the airport).  they will be leasing 50,000 sq. ft. of space.

It is a large medical examination and diagnostic testing company that primarily contracts with government agencies.

Metro Council approves 34% property tax hike by 32-8 margin. 

The budget, in effect on July 1, increases Davidson County's property tax rate by $1.066 per $100 of assessed value. This moves the rate from $3.155 to $4.221 per $100 of assessed value in the city's more urban areas. For a home appraised at $250,000, that would mean an increase of about $666.25 per year. The new tax rate will remain the lowest among Tennessee's largest cities and counties. 

The spending plan, which council members adopted over the budget proposed by Mayor John Cooper, gives 1% cost-of-living increases to city employees, $7.6 million more funding to the school district and another $4.9 million to bring minimum wage up to $15 per hour for district employees.

Maybe they sneak in a smaller toys r us as well. I’m think I heard that the brand is making a comeback with a total redesign.
