I know this was mentioned a couple of years ago and I meant to take a screen shot of it. This is the ROKU image of their skyscape with the AT&T tower in it. The shot is a running image that has multiple buildings from around the world and those of you that have ROKU know what I am talking about.

Yep.  I shared that a couple of years ago...and I catch myself sometimes just staring at it as it rolls by, trying to figure out where each building is from.  Btw...love seeing Baby Yoda (or "Yodi" as I call him)

The new Nashville Nine. 

Sorry guys but the Historic Nashville Inc. is a toothless, clawless kitten dressed up as a Lion in a cage meowing thinking it is roaring trying to bring attention to a hopeless cause. Two of these buildings were heavily damaged by the tornado (the church & prison). One is pretty much slated for demo (The Barbizon), one is for sale (Chaffins Barn), and two are not even buildings

I agree. I don't even know how/why the Barbizon would be architecturally significant... it's a brick box. And why is the Firestone building endangered? A drugstore has been operating out of there for 30 years.

I believe that the Rite Aide that was in that location has closed. There is a for lease sign up.

As far as the prison goes, they should do their best to save the main entrance building that looks like a castle.  That actual prison cell areas can probably be done away with (they're spooky as hell, anyway.  Went and saw the place close up about 8-9 years ago...including Ol' Smoky's death chamber room...and eek).

This building would make some kind of cool museum or something.  You can't demolish such great architecture.

This subject reminds me of a recent experience I had, I was watching a low budget Christian/Christmas movie on I think HULU a few months back.  It was a couple with kids living in Nashville going home to Lawrenceburg for Christmas.  Me being from Lawrenceburg I was SHOCKED to hear Lawrenceburg come up in a movie!  As I told my uncle soon there after when telling him about it "I was as SHOCKED to hear Lawrenceburg come up in a movie as you were in that late 70's night on the Johnny Carson Show when you heard Lawrenceburg Tenn. (retroing initials Tn to the times there) coming in at #1 in places he would never live." Lawrenceburg's claim to fame!!!  Nashville scenes no doubt Nashville, scenes going to Lawrenceburg on two lane country roads, "where are they going, it's four lane hwy all the way"..., Lawrenceburg scenes "that's Franklin."  All honestly, it's a little more understandable using Franklin for Lawrenceburg but using Charlotte as Nashville.  Really?

One of my Pandora channels is for Imagine Dragons, which I listen to as I do my regular five mile runs. For some time, I've heard songs by Mat Kearney, including this one. But this morning I heard the first word of the song. Listen to it. Obviously, the video was not shot in Nashville, but I did research on him and he is a big Nashville transplant from Oregon who loves being based there.

the follow up on the Hallmark movie "Nashville Christmas Carol" filmed almost exclusively in Charlotte.  

Okay but really you would have to know that it was filmed in Charlotte and people who know Nashville would know something is amiss. Opens with some generic skyline shots of Nashville which to me look old.  First scenes were at Blumenthal PAC uptown.  (anyone would  have figured out in Nashville this was not the Ryman or Grand Old Opry)  House in Cotswold area was used extensively with some inside shots and outside shots.  My sources who know the owner the family was put up a hotel for a while while their house was used for filming.  Owner actually made a cameo appearance in the background in one scene.    House where the lead character grew up was shown outside and inside home off Gilead Road in Huntersville.  Back uptown outside shots at Nascar Plaza showing ice skating rink and a holiday market.  (remember this was filmed in September here) You could see a glimpse of the Buffalo Wild Wings signage and that may have been done intentionally.  Through the magic of green background screens the inside of Buffalo Wild Wings uptown was transformed into a corporate party scene overlooking the Cumberland River in Nashville.  But it was all filmed here at the Nascar Plaza.    In some outside scenes I saw One and Three Wells Fargo towers.   Another "date" scene was filmed at Novule uptown  rooftop bar at Epicenter on the 22nd floor of the AC by Marriott.   Quite a bit was filmed in the Blumenthal and at the home in Cotswold.    With a couple of outside stock photos of Nashville it fooled most people I am sure.  However at the end it said "Filmed in North Carolina" in big letters.   If you follow country music really had some big names in it:  Wynonna Judd, Sara Evans, Kimberly Paisley (Brad Paisley's wife)

I would say Hallmark movies will be back as they filmed a movie last year in Charlotte using Blumenthal and Knight Theater and Romare Bearden Park.  So I think the film scouts like our facilities and with this year being what it is our venues need the money.  Charlotte played New York City last year and this year Nashville.
