The Charlotte Observer is reporting Chip Ganasssi Racing the Concord NC based NASCAR team is going out of business as of Nov. 7th.   The new owners are Musician Pitbull and Justin Marks of Trackhouse Racing.  Marks is said to be looking at a 2022 move from NC to Nashville.

Very few locals it seems like.  Some come down from KY and such.

Trackhouse Entertainment (parent company of Trackhouse Racing) is actually already located here in Nashville. Even before they announced the Ganassi acquisition they wanted to move the racing team here and Justin Marks mentioned as early as 2023, but that is a quick move for a large operation. That 11/07 date is the beginning of a 14 day transition period. Ganassi filed a notice with the North Carolina Dept. of Commerce that this will result in 55 permanent layoffs.

I think each bar needs to have private security (not just bouncers), or more security, that assist metro police.

A new coffee shop from Wilmington NC is coming to Nashville.  Maybe not big news to some but it is good for this specific community.  I hope you will go by and support this special coffee shop.  Not sure where in the city maybe one of  y'all knows.

The article says the location and date of opening has not yet been announced.

On a visit to Charleston, SC, in January, the wife and I stopped here to get our morning cup of coffee.  The coffee is good and the vibe is beyond wonderful.  Having had some involvement with Cedar Lake in Louisville, ( https://cedarlake.org ) I've seen lives changed because of this type of business.  Thanks for sharing this news with us!

The state comptroller's office has a website for county commissioners to use as they begin the process of redistricting because of the new Census numbers.  But what I find interesting is the comptroller's population projections for the next 5 years.  If I read the numbers correctly, they didn't just use Census figures and project them for the next five years, either, as some of the numbers are vastly different from the official Census numbers.

Anyway, they are projecting that (no surprise) the Nashville area will continue to dominate the state's growth.  They project that the state will grow at an annual rate of 0.63% each year for the next five years, but only 34 of the state's 95 counties will grow at least that quickly.  Clearly, Middle Tennessee is driving the state's growth.  And of those 34 counties, there's only one county in West Tennessee (Fayette--suburban Memphis).  

So here's a breakdown of the numbers, just the 34 counties projected to "grow" (meaning faster than the state average) in the next five years, ranked by projected annual growth rates.  Assuming these projections are accurate and continue beyond 5 years, Rutherford County will easily overtake Hamilton County (Chattanooga) to become the state's 4th most populous county by the next census.

Do these so called "leaders" not understand the concept of providing facts and details?

The only incident they hang their hat on is the guy who fell off the bus.

Of the 200 "downtown" calls, how many of those were concerning Broadway? How many were about locals fighting and killing one another? How many were about locals robbing and assaulting tourists? How many involved tourists committing criminal acts? How many involved the homeless?

I'm noticing a pattern. It looks like the geritol users can't get over the fact that Nashville tourism isn't based on what they want it to be.

I have a question for those who use ePermits.  What does it mean when the permit says MPC Zoning Letter/Official Zoning Letter? Two popped up this afternoon for Waterside Drive (River North).

There is a rezoning asked for or pending. Also when there is a new overlay, they have to do a letter for every address involved in the overlay. I think if you saw it last Monday, you probably noticed there were like 4 pages of the MPC Zoning Letters. These all have to go in front of Planning and will appear on Development Tracker at some point in the next week or so.

Sometimes the zoning is minor and sometimes it is major. So remember if it is a change it has to go through Planning and if it is an appeal it goes through BZA.

Hey Craig , or Taylor if I didn’t explain correctly or did not say something that was not correct please correct me, but that is the way I understand things.
