Yea, they have been trying to market that site for this or to sell it for some time now. Not the first time I have seen this rendering. I know they have been offered a fair price for this property and they probably will not get what they are asking. They probably do not have the ability to get it done on there own either.

Through Metro Beautification’s Adopt-a-Street program, you can do just that.

How it works

Step one: Apply for the free program. The one-year agreementcan be renewed as many times as you’d like.

Step two: Get a group together (think: your neighborhood, family, or friends) or opt to adopt as an individual.

Step three: Clean both sides of the street of your adopted blocks at least four times a year.

Step four: Return filled bags to a convenience center or request they be picked up by Metro.

Step five: Complete your volunteer hour reporting form at the conclusion of each cleanup.

What to know:

Supplies like gloves, caution signs, safety vests, and bags will be provided to you. Volunteers will receive safety guidelines and a liability waiver to sign.

Signs recognizing each volunteer group or individual are installed at the end of adopted roadways.

Projections indicate Nashville tourism will grow as a market in 2023. Hotel demand is forecasted to grow annually by 10% compared to 2022.

Nashville expects to welcome 15 million visitors outside 50 miles of the city in 2023. The large majority of visitors are projected to be domestic travelers. Visitor spending is projected to be about $9.3 billion in 2023, up 5% from 2022.

Wow! Just wow! on hospitality in Nashville.  Those figures Tyler quotes "per key" for those three hotels (W, Fairlane and Conrad) are in the stratosphere.  It would seem to my untrained (in R/E) mind that it bodes well for the Ritz getting started soon.  But I have to admit I have a sinking feeling about that project...  I think the timing is working against it.  And why the sewer project at the roundabout wasn't put on ULTRA SUPER HIGH PRIORITY 4 years ago is just malfeasance by Metro.  IMHO, of course!

What a bunch of petulant children.  All because the city didn't want to hold a party for their buddies due to security concerns... and yet somehow it's supposedly the city of Nashville that isn't 'prioritizing prosperity of it's people?'   I've said it a thousand times and I'll say it again... Nashville is booming right now, but just imagine the heights it might reach if it's state government wasn't actively working to sabotage it just so they can score political points with Uncle Jimbo in Bucksnort!

Our state government is pathetic, and has even gained some national media attention recently due to just how many of our state laws are written to supercede the will of local laws.

Combine this with our ridiculous new district that allows for our local representative being Andy Ogles (of Maury County), and there is a clear agenda to marginalize the state's biggest economic engine and its residents.

Lakeview Elementary ($39.3 million), Paragon Mills Elementary (33.4 million) , and Percy Priest Elementary ($39.3 million) will all get major renovations/expansion if  Mayor Cooper's new budget is approved.

The State of Tennessee got Nashville, Bridgestone, AllianceBernstein, Amazon, Oracle, etc, etc and they think that trying to pull political sandbag operations wouldn't result in retaliation? The State of Tennessee helped pay for the current Titans Stadium and are helping to pay for their future stadium. They ought to withdraw their commitment to paying for the new stadium.

I think everyone's over-politicizing elected officials' intentions here.

The state legislature pushed for Nashville to host the RNC because they wanted to bring recognition and notoriety to the state of Tennessee. They're proud of Nashville and recognize its ability to draw in and host people successfully and wanted to capitalize on that. 

City council rightfully had concerns. Most people feel more politically polarized than in the past, and no one wants to see Nashville as the site of riots like at the 1968 DNC in Chicago. Also, huge swaths of downtown would have been completely shut down for several days. What would the revenue loss be from these closures? How much money would the convention bring in? Does this net out to more or less than comparable conventions that we could host that weekend? These are all entirely valid concerns. 

My point is, city and state officials serve different constituencies and therefore have different goals. People are accusing both sides of playing political games, but that comes from a fundamental inability to see the differences in the others' representations.

With all due respect my friend, I feel like that's an absolutely bizarre take from a person whom I think it's safe to assume based on your comment above is someone that likes to tell other people that they 'hate big government.'  The entire purpose of the body of elected officials that make up The Nashville Metro Council is to make decisions on the behalf of their constituents in the City of Nashville, that impact the City of Nashville exclusively.  So when it made the decision to decline that convention due to concerns of security, it was just doing it's job.  You might not like the decision, but whether you, or I, or Governor Lee, or Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson like it or not is completely irrelevant.  The bottom line is that the members of the metro council were simply doing their jobs, and there's nothing 'childish' about that.  What is, actually, 'childish'  and 'clownish,' and an egregious example of "political shenanigans," in my estimation, is the state government responding to said local decision by throwing a hissy fit and lashing out first against the metro council itself, and then the city as a whole, simply because the convention in question was to be hosted by their political allies.  That decision had absolutely nothing to do with the state government though.  And yet, there they were, butting their noses into a local decision because they thought those guys throwing the party were, like, super cool, and they really wanted to impress the cool kids.  And again, very odd in my opinion for anyone, but particularly someone of your political bent, to be in support of a state government essentially threatening to extort a local city government if it doesn't make decisions that are not pre-approved by the state.  I mean if we start going down that road we might as well just let the state hand pick Nashville's local government.  

BTW, I think you have it absolutely backwards.  NASHVILLE got the state of Tennessee Bridgestone, AllianceBernstein, Amazon, Oracle etc. etc.  The state government might have helped in brokering those deals to varying degrees, but Metro Nashville is the only region in this entire state seeing any significant growth, and by FAR the state's largest economic engine.  So without Nashville I guarantee you that none of those companies would have even glanced in Tennessee's direction.  Sorry to the rest of the state's big four, I love ya, but that's just the truth.  So the state of Tennessee funnels money to Nashville, because it benefits the state as a whole.  Nashville IS Tennessee, and it is by far it's largest cash cow.  In other words, an investment into Nashville is an investment into Tennessee itself.  So I'm not sure why you're acting as if it's some sort of selfless charity for the State of Tennessee to invest in the State of Tennessee, because an investment into itself is exactly what it is.  Conversely, any "retaliation" by the state of Tennessee 'against Nashville' is really just the state shooting itself in the foot too.

These businesses were coming to Nashville or not coming to Tennessee at all. Incentives may play a role in relocation, but ultimately the company is picking the city.

P.S., Bridgestone was already here.
