Nashville Bits and Pieces

Thanks for posting Chris. I forgot to post this yesterday. William went to the presentation and said is was very good. I had read about this several months ago in another publication and the specifics of what has happened in Asheville. Density, density, density is the key along with height.

Bring it on Nashville.

Nashville ranks as nation's 2nd most sprawling city.  Thank god for Atlanta.

How can they have both Warren, Michigan (one of the most sprawling) and Detroit (a most compact) in the lists? Warren is a suburb of Detroit. It is the suburbs that define a cities sprawliness  would think.

Might Nashville be on the list (at least partially) because of the unified city/county government? If they are looking at all of Davidson County, then of course the density is really low and streets long. That being said, we obviously have a long way to go, particularly when it comes to walkability.

Not sure where to post this, but the Nashville Federal Courthouse has been officially cancelled after the GSA deemed it was not needed. They spent $1.9 million on purchasing the land, and $21 million on design and now cancelled it!

Tax payers need to be recouped for this. The Feds need to sell the land and let private development buy it.

This might be better placed in the Germantown thread.  But it is about the general market for apartments in Nashville, namely the inner ring.

Record price for the Vista G'town building on a per-unit basis (apx $220K).  The article mentions that Elliston 23 is expected to surpass that.  This speaks to continuing demand for apartments as good investments.

Which Final Four city is better, Dallas or Nashville?

Was on ESPN and found this. The Dallas debater seems like she was against Dallas rather than for. Only thing she kept saying is everything is big in Dallas.

When I voted, Nashville was up 82% to Dallas's 18%

84% to 16% now...

Reminds me of The Band:

The odds were in my favor, I had 'em five to one

86-14 now.

Apparently women prefer Nashville. Which is totally cool with me.

Of course, it might just be that women are voting for Women's Final Four over the Men's rather than the actual cities themselves...
