Yazoo Brewery's new location will be 910 Division St.. in one of the old warehouses on the backside of ICON, near 8th Ave. The current space in Marathon Village, its unclear what they will do, but sounds like they hope to hang onto it for something.

Here's a blog post:

And an article in the Scene:

Virago moving to the Gulch? Or is this a second location?

I noticed construction of some sort going on inside the warehouse that used to be owned by the Tennessean, along with at the old Agave Tequila Lounge..

From the Scene:

According to Health Department files, Virago Restaurant lists 1126 McGavock Street--a 13,000-square-foot warehouse, formerly owned by The Tennessean parent, Gannett Company-- as the address of the building to be reviewed. The brick warehouse, built in 1935, is located across the street from the now-shuttered Radius10.

And.. Agave (the Agave sign is now gone, though):

Another listing on the health department docket is Whiskey Kitchen, nearby at 118 12th Ave. S., in the location of the defunct Agave Tequila Lounge, at the corner of McGavock and 12th. According to the health department, Virago and Whiskey Kitchen share the same contractor. Both buildings are currently undergoing renovation.

Nice! This answers a few questions..

Chris Hyndman, owner of Virago and Lime restaurants, is leasing and renovating the former Radius 10 location on McGavock Street for a steakhouse to be called Kayne Prime. He is turning the former Agave bar on the same block into a Whiskey Kitchen, both of which have planned openings in late summer or fall.

In 2010, Hyndman also plans to move his Virago restaurant into an old warehouse on McGavock Street that he and developer James Caden bought from The Tennessean for $68 per square foot last year. He'll keep his current Virago location open until the move occurs.

A little late in posting this, but...

Salon heading to the Gulch

Cashmere Salonspa will open in a street-level space in the ICON this November.

A 12-chair salon, the site was the brainchild of owner Judy Randall, a local stylist with over 21 years of experience in the industry.

Also.. went on a tour of the Velocity this weekend.. and the agent mentioned they were to announce a restaurant tenant today.. anyone have the scoop? They are apparently doing a grand opening at 4pm according to this

Are you actually shopping for a unit, or do you just take the tour every few months to get the scoop on retail news? Either way, good info. A Turnip Truck would go a long way to validating the area--making it a real neighborhood.

Any word on retail space slotted to go in the Velocity?

I have actually been shopping around lol.. but I admit to doing a tour or two in various developments just for fun and information :)

Bristol rep told me that one restaurant really wants to open in the Velocity.. its part of the same parent company that owns the Wine Loft.. but they want to wait and see what the numbers look like for the Wine Loft first.

I snooped around online and found out the parent company is called the Doyle Restaurant Group... http://www.doylerestaurantgroup.com/main/

And looked around some more.. and saw on the website for Huey's Diner.. Nashville is listed as opening this summer!

Sooo.. apparently the Bristol rep that mentioned a new restaurant a while back.. may have been mistaken on the exact location.

Hueys Diner is set to be opening in the ICON sometime this year... a 24/7 diner. I assume this would be on the back side off Division.. because isn't that the only retail space left??

This is according to a newsletter sent by the Velocity property management group.

Anyone have the old ICON retail plan that used to be available on their website?
