Sure would be nice if they did a little renovating on this side of the Van Andel Arena, so people hanging out in Studio Park aren't looking at the as...umm butt end of the arena.

Actually the piazza/plaza of Studio Park lines up with the large sidewalk that runs on the East side of the arena. You can see that they also added the brick pavers on Oakes where many of the pedestrians will be crossing. I think it'd behoove the city to take a look at that "alley" to see what other enhancements can be made. It's not bad now but could be way better.

Kind of a strange picture because I was driving and had to take this from the car - but WOW! Quite a rendering and quite a tower...

Cool rendering. Too bad it’s a concept and not reality. Hopefully something tall will get built there, but there’s almost zero chance it will be the same size / design as the rendering.

Aww I thought this was an actual rendering.  My rough count was 21 stories?  That would look really nice in that area.  Don't worry though, it will be 12 or less

Actually if they time it right and wait for a lot of the current apartments to get absorbed, they could swoop in with 21 stories and could possibly be the only game in town (downtown).  Assuming it would take 2 years to build it out, they could start it next year with a 2021 delivery. #justspitballin

It’s interesting to see how this project has evolved. One thing I like is that the height of the tower has remained sufficient.

The first and last renderings are beautiful towers. The second and third are mega woof and look like something you’d see in South Bend.

I’m thinking that in the first rendering, they wanted something really polished. The 2nd and third seem more conceptual as buildings shifted around (more of a size and mass exercise). And the final rendering is again polished for marketing.

The last one almost looks like a model and not a rendering. I love it. I wonder how Franklin Partners is doing with their office building plans?

Walked by the development yesterday. The two buildings along Oakes and the hotel on Ionia are moving along pretty pretty fast.

I'm curious, anyone know where the actual theaters are going?  I'm guess right by the mud truck in the 3rd picture as everywhere else has support beams.  How many screens will this be again?

Thanks for posting these.  Are most of the screens under 80  people capacity?

I guess it makes sense that 8 of the 9 theaters are rather small (45 to 85 seats).  They probably need to balance having variety with a smaller population of moviegoers.
