the future of interactive television

I think the next step in the future of television is interactive programming. If you grew up in the 1980s, you might remember those "chose your own adventure" books. You the reader are faced with choices the character makes which affects how the story will end. There were many different endings in those books. That same concept is being planned for television. You are the character in the movie and you make choices that will ultimately determine how the movie ends. Possibly the theaters could put voting buttons on the arms of the theater seats with 4 or 5 possible choices, giving the audience a time limit to make their choice. Majority vote would choose the direction of the story line and its ending. You could see the movie many times and each time it would be like seeing it for the first time.
