Creston Neighborhood

Glad to see this is finally being used. http://www.mlive.com/business/west-michigan/index.ssf/2015/08/damicos_lucys_cafe_brighton_bi.html#incart_river

All the Creston hype seems to have been put on the back burner, hopefully the brewery and 616 get moving along with Red Ball reopening sometime soon as well.

At this point, I am beginning to wonder if Gilmore is going to reopen Red Jet cafe. There is a rumor among employees, who have been moved to other restaurants, that it will not be reopened.  While work crews were obviously busy there for the first few months since the early April fire, there has been no obvious activity there for nearly two months. The work appears to be done, based on my very scientific method of looking in the open back door. I do hope it reopens and continues to be a vibrant part of the Creston area as there are (finally) some exciting things happening there.

Good read about Hartwell acquiring two buildings and turning it into mixed use. Looks like it was recommended that the gr city commission approve the projects. Also, there was comparison to the bridge street corridor in this article speaking on similarities. If Creston can take off along with bridge street and create new vibrancy along with added foot traffic.. This would definitely bring gr to life more. You would have (areas surrounding downtown gr) bridge, creston, heritage hill/belknap, wealthy, west fulton, and..... Drum roll please... Division avenue south of wealthy

You beat me to it. I was going to post streetviews of the two buildings. I just drove past 1224 Plainfield Friday and was curious as to what was going on.

Looks like there is some movement on the Creston Brewery

"Open by the time the snow melts." That's pretty ambitious, knowing how long it seems to take breweries/distilleries to open around here. :P

Maybe they forgot the "2017" portion of the quote

Maybe they're figuring in an "ice age" from global climate change.

No, I do hope they get it open by Spring. The entertainment venue sounds like a cool addition. One of the partners is in a very popular blues band that plays at Founders a lot (I believe).
