I'd have to agree. I don't think New Orleans has really become part of the new south. Which in all honestly, is kind of a shame (depending on your view point of deep south vs. new south). New Orleans has the character to really be one of the leading cities in the south.

New Orleans is only in the deep south by location...The French backgrounds and Brooklyn accents make us very different from the areas sorrounding us.

Great pics! As someone who lived in Metairie for a little time in my life, it brings back some great memories of Mardi Gras gone by.
