Gastown indeed adds a bit of charm to an otherwise bustling (well, moderately) city, though I don't find it to be the historic city that Charleston, SC is; you can still pretty easily tell that you're in modern Vancouver. Great pictures TheTokenCanadian, though I think it would've better if you lumped your pictures into one - well, two or three threads rather than a whole bunch of them.

This picture shows where Gastown lies in relation to the core Business District in downtown Vancouver. These pics were all taken on Water Street, which is the tree-lined street (running "up and down") through the "A" in "Air".

Great post on Vancouver. I've heard of Gastown but never seen any good shots of it. Maybe I missed it but why do they call it Gastown?

Wow - I've never really seen much of Gastown before. What a nice area of town.
