Downtown gets it's arena!!!!!!!!!!!!

The downtown has been approved at a margin of 60% yes to 30% no.

Mayor Kay Barnes says that this will make Kansas City the destination city of the midwest from Minneapolis to Dallas.

The arena IS going to happen and now in mid august renderings will come in from all the companies vying to design the world class arena.

Enterprise is slain and it's officially a "New Day for Kansas City".

H&R Block's HQ building (the oval 18 floor skyscraper) will start construction this September and the arena will start construction early 2005.

The ballet school downtown also needs only 1 million dollars more to start construction on their building.

The ballroom will start construction sometime by mid 2005.

The IRS' HQ downtown has already been breaking ground.

We have won by a majority of 20,000 votes 57,000 yeses and 37,000 nos

Kansas City has almost never seen such a huge turnout in voters.

The Sprint Center will start construction in summer or fall of 2005 with completion in 2007.
