Unemployment numbers are derived simply by looking at people filing unemployment claims. For millions, this has run out so it makes it look as if unemployment has fallen. Many unemployed simply are not being counted now. The real number of course is how many new jobs have been created, and that is still dismally low and still does not cover the jobs lost. Further the jobs have been created are mostly in the Government which is not a good thing considering this President, who claimed to be for smaller government, has actually increased the size of the Federal Government.

Conversely, the household survey will reveal significantly higher growth than the 32k.

Question: If bush must bear the blame for the low number this month, does he get the credit for consumer confidence ?

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we," Bush said. "They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." ...

I think that this is stupid. Any idiot can understand what he meant: They will keep coming up with new ways to harm us, and we will come up with new ways to defeat them.

People should know by now that Bush is not exactly known for his eloquency.

Yeah, nobody had a problem with Yogi Berra.
