Cape Cod, Massachusetts is Barnstable County, within Barnstable County is a town named Barnstable, within the Town of Barnstable is a village called Barnstable. Barnstable Village, Barnstable Town, Barnstable County. Barnstable Village is the county seat.

All of Nantucket Island is Nantucket County, the only town in Nantucket County is Nantucket, also the entirety of the island.

Miami shouldn't really count. Who knows why they changed the name of the county.

There is a Dade city up by Tampa, nowhere close to Dade County.

There's a Seminole in Tampa, but still nowhere close to Seminole County.

The city of Okeechobee is the county seat of Okeechobee county.

Those are the only I can think of for Florida.

By the same token....There is a Bradford town and a Bradford county in Pennsylvania. The Bradford town is also a county seat...But it's the county seat of McKean county. Towanda is the county seat of Bradford county. They are both along the NY border in the northern tier of Pennsylvania.

Unknown to many, Jacksonville and Duval County don't completely share the same boundary. There are four other incorporated cities in Duval County that didn't merge with Jacksonville in 1968. They are Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach, & Bladwin.

It is true! The beaches are rebels.

Also in Massachusetts:

Norfolk is a town in Norfolk County.

Essex is a town in Essex County.

Neither one is the county seat nor the most important town in the county.

Plymouth is the county seat of Plymouth County.

Worcester is the county seat (and by far the most important place) in Worcester County.

The town of Franklin is NOT in Franklin County.
