http://mywebpage.netscape.com - They offer 20MB, and if you need more you can sign up for multiple accounts with them.

http://www.photobucket.com - Reliable and free, although there are bandwidth limits.

http://www.fotop.net - The full service is ~ $12.88 per year, but you can sign up for a free trial account, which offers you 10MB of storage space.

This thread needs an update....

www.fotop.net trial accounts are now good for only 30 days. My account got deleted. <_< I'm thinking of switching to paid account at Pbase. You get 200 MB there for $24 per year. It is almost twice as much as fotop.net, but the load times are so much faster. Even on the ethernet here at school the load times for photos hosted at fotop.net are painfully slow.

http://mywebpage.netscape.com still works, but it seems to experience reliablility issues every once and a while.

photobucket.com is proabably the best free account, although you really have to watch your bandwidth if you post a lot of photos.

Photobucket just ate all my photos. I had only signed up a couple weeks prior. I wasn't very impressed to say the least, it's called a backup, get to know it.

I'm really close to buying my own webspace for $7.95/mo. I have realized that I would need to buy so much space from Pbase that it wouldn't be that much more expensive to own my own website. Unfortunately I am broke, so it will probably be next summer before I can actually post photos in large quantities again. :(

Its a free account though... so you can only complain so much :)

Oh I know, you should see the people in their forums crying about lost stuff. It's called a CD burner, get to know it.

However, it's now a lot less likely that I'll be paying for an upgraded account with them now isn't it? :whistling:

Speaking of photobucket eating photos, it did that to mine about a week ago. I lost a lot of links in my San Milto thread in the Sim City section. I would like to go back and redo the links, but I've he ability to edit the posts. Could anyone reopen the posts and let me edit them?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Post a link to the thread. I can copy the code out of it and send it to you via PM to update. Once you have it updated you can PM or email it back to me, and I can post it for you.

http://www.canaca.com/ is a good deal as well. $3.95/mo. + $10/year for a domain name.

I was going to sign up, but now I am being charged $100 because some idiot somewhere on my floor stole the "3rd Floor" signs from the stairwells. Additionally, I will have to help foot the cost for the fine that the fire marshall is going to give us when he comes next week to inspect the building and sees that the signs are missing in two of the stairwells. I don't even want to guess how much this is going to cost.....

Yeah. I haven't heard what the latest on the fines is. I never saw the fire marshall, but I am never actually in my dorm, LOL. I'm thinking there will be a meeting sometime soon when I will find out how much additional money I owe. It's times like this when I would like to move out. The problem is that apartments in Southfield start at about $600/month for a 300 square foot studio. I can get an apartment downtown for $450, but then I have to add in the gas money that it would take to drive to Southfield each day. Plus the Lodge Freeway (the freeway that runs from Southfield to downtown) is closed for repairs, turning what would be a 20-30 minute commute in heavy traffic into an hour long commute in total gridlock.

BTW, I did find a webhosting place that gives you 100 MB and unlimited bandwidth. Then I got a free .tk domain name. LOL, I am so cheap. But it is better than nothing.

"Sorry, dynamic pages in the %7Boption%7D tags are not allowed"

This^ is what I get from this forum software but an image on Culturesnobs can be hotlinked on vBulletin based forums.

Ah ok, well, I guess it won't work for hotlinking then. We don't allow images to be displayed here that don't end in .jpg, .gif or .png for security reasons. Dynamic images aren't allowed as they could contain malicious scripts. :o

I'm kind of moving away from the topic, but it's very possible to make dynamic images with a URL that looks like a regular hotlink. Maybe it's an Internet Explorer thing (haven't really used it in a long time), but a script shown as a image should just look like a corrupted image, at worst.
