Blue Ridge Mall in Kansas City (I don't know if it's actually in the city limits though) is going to be completely demolished and replaced.

It is part of an $89,500,000 project to redevelop the mall and the surrounding land space.

It includes 600,000+ square feet of retail/office space and will bring more than 1,500 jobs to the area.

A 200,000 square foot WalMart will be built on the site and will open in 2006.

The rest of the site will have 200,000 square feet of retail and entertainment and a 22 acre site will have 220,000 square feet of retail.

$25.3 million will be gained through the Tax Increment Financing Commission.
