Detroit Photo of the Day

Simcity 3000 had some premade cities, but they weren't real cities. May I ask why Flint was built before Detroit. I think the concept would workout now because of all the new graphics. Plus I just want to see how real Detroit is compared to some of my cities. And building the Detroit Metro Area surrounding premade inner ring suburbs and the Main city would be awesome. Plus making improvements and seeing how it affects the city would be a nice feature too.

SimCity 2000 had a Flint, MI? With 2000's graphics, how would you even be able to tell? It probably looked like every other city with one main commercial street.

Flint was included in SimCity 2000 as a scenario city. Your goal was to turn around unemployment, abandonment, and crime. The city wasn't really set up to match was Flint's really like.

Thanks, i used to have a Sony cybershot but all the recent photos Ive been posting were taken with my Nikon D50 that i picked up a month or two ago. Its a fantastic camera.

Man, oh man, I love shots displaying a city's texture. Detroit is a feast for the eyes, even in its declined state. The busier, the better, IMO.

Yeah, it was a bad timing for a shot because there was actually quite a few people walking down Broadway that day.

Wow, this is nice. Just imagine the view you would get taking the Amtrak into the city (when it used MCS).

Object orange seem to know what they are doing. No doubt the houses are hazards to kids' safety and a target to arson. The city of Detroit needs to stop worrying about demoing historical buildings downtown and get rid of this garbage instead for a better Detroit.

Object Orange was previously known as Detroit Demolition Disneyland. The houses here are in Highland Park, in a neighborhood so desolate that the streets have been blocked off with concrete barricades, and every single house is abandoned and in an extreme state of decay.
