Detroit Photo of the Day

Seeing the One Kennedy jogged my memory of some information I got from REDICO two weeks ago concerning the progress of the building:

1. Ernst and Young has been building out their space in the building since July 1, 2006. They supposedly will be fully moved in before the end of the year, and are looking to expand, I hear.

2. Visteon is now subleasing (after they decided not to move in), and have a tenant lined up that will supposedly start their building out in January, and be moved in June of next year.

I was given nothing on the retail/restaurant tenants, nor did they say anything about the Woodward Block that I asked them about.

Ernst & Young's space is getting there, although from what I've seen, it looks like an end of year move-in is a bit optimistic. Hopefully Visteon will be able to sublet the space without too many instances of musical offices occuring.

With this poor office market, I seriously doubt they'll be able to fill it without pulling more tenants out of other buildings downtown. But, that's not really much bad news when one considers the downtown economy is growing unlike many other parts of the city, and many other parts of the metro.

You know what I'd like to see if anyone could get these shots? I'd like to see a few shots of Marygrove College and University of Detroit-Mercy, two fine Detroit liberal arts institutions that get very little in the way of press.
