Looks good. It's not done yet though, right? Some of the bricks look like they need a little polishing and it looks like it could use a porch. Awsome work though. Does anyone know how long that took?

Maybe almost 2 years? There is a whole addition on the back side that is brand new construction. I don't think the whole building is finished yet because not all condos sold...and I'm pretty sure each unit is built to suit.

Does anyone know the difference between how much it cost to rennovate, vs. how much it would cost to bulldoze it and rebuilt a replica?

I mean, the entire thing was a wreck, all that they had to start with was a shell, and even that wasn't in great shape.

It looks fantastic though. I'd love to live in a house like that. Good job to the people who worked on it.

Oh, they turned it into a condo/townhouse. Well, it looks nice anyway, better than before.

Why would you be disappointed by that? Single-family homes/mansions that close to downtown haven't made sense since probably before the 1920's. The fact that any of those mansions/single-family homes are still standing in Brush Park is amazing to me. Economically and use wise, Brush Park should have been made a historic condo district long ago. The only thing that saved any of them, believe it or not, was the decline of Detroit. How ironic.

I can't wait to see what Brush Park will look like in a couple years. I might be interested in living there if I get a job with the DPD in about 2 1/2 years.

I drove past that house (the guy is fixing up) about a year ago. It looked like it was a lost cause. Definitely looks like the opposite is happening. It will be nice to see it saved.

The Mexicantown Restaurant is my favorite place to eat on the southwest side. Not sure if anyone cared, but I just thought I would throw it out there.

next time any of you need a Detroit ego boost, drive through mexicantown along vernor from say Livernois to the I-75 service drive. SW Detroit is really something to get excited about... lots of cool restoration and a good deal of quality structures still fronting the street.
