Hall house is gone. I’m going to try, but boy are there big names in the community in support of this.

I love/hate this city sometimes.

There are a few people on the scene that seem aligned with #SaveHallHouse who I’d imagine still wield some influence in the city even though they are no longer elected officials. Matthew Ridenhour, Judge Bob Orr, and David Erdman all seem to be on board based on their tweets.

Also, what specifically should we email the individuals listed above?

That our history is important, and that while yes, affordable housing is important, there is countless opportunities for affordable housing nearby and on the miles and miles of fixed rail transit we have built, painstakingly over the past 2 decades.  We need to do our due diligence and find a way to preserve and reimagine this structure.

I guess my question should have been how do we approach these individuals? With the exception of Susan Harden, I do not know who these individuals are, and I don’t know what bearing they have on the project.

With respect to due diligence, Sounds like an Agenda article with some pretty renderings might be a good start. ;)

Did anyone else notice that the Inlivian proposal seemed to be  thrown into the mix at the last minute?  They didn’t even release the specifics of the plan (I.e. the intent to demolish Hall House) until their presentation last week. And from what I read it seemed as if they were anticipating community opposition.  So it seems to me as if the whole thing was timed as it was so as to minimize the amount of time the opposition was given to organize.

1. She emailed me, I'll look into her more.

2. CEO of Inlivian

3. Commissioner of Inlivian/Pastor/on the ballot for BOCC

I'd like some renderings too, and I'd like them to actually SHOW the community that it cannot be salvaged, vs trusting their first word. It absolutely all was thrown in at the last min.

There is a 'festival street' which bisects the site from mid-block of the current library to the back of Sprit Square, and possibly through the other blocks (which won't happen anymore, thanks Inlivian).

Here is the concept sketch for it, and the plans are pretty close, it just has more of an angle from Belk Place to the corner of 7th & College.

That sketch is for all of the North Tryon area. It doesn't really show a good view of the interior of the Seventh & Tryon blocks.

Right, but the interior of the block has the same mid block 'street' as these concept sketches.
