Yes here is what that Ledger article says:

However, for their State Street development in CT, they integrated part of the older building into the development! Curious to see if they may try to do the same.

So I thought VAPA was temporary until they found a better use for/cashed out that parcel...no? I hope we don't lose the museum altogether eventually, it's pretty cool. I love adding residential high rise in that location (and I'm surprised by it). The portfolio of the developer is...aesthetically underwhelming. Personally, I wish they could incorporate the museum into the base of the building...

I hope it actually will fill in the skyline as far as height. But that’s wishful thinking. And is it safe to say “New Museum Alert.” I hope they rebuild on the North side still.

According to Axios, VAPA will only be temporary:

• After that, the museum will temporarily relocate to the Visual and Performing Arts Center (VAPA) a few blocks away on North Tryon.

No inside knowledge, but it just makes so much sense for the museum to have a place in the Brooklyn/Pearl developments.

Yes, it will move to an interim location and eventually new permanent spot. Hopefully, it will be a done deal soon and can be announced soon.

This is what Uptown needs. More people need to live there. Add 20+ more apartment towers, and watch the restaurants, retail, and entertainment options just start popping up.

Yes. Lack of media pump pieces is the apparent repercussion.

All he has to do is say he’s redesigning the apartment again (again again) and there’ll be a flood of articles that include a recap of his master plan from 2004 as if it was ever actually a serious proposal. No one in Charlotte media ever holds “developers” accountable.

But he did lose money and tax credits for not delivering the parking by deadline. Or at least should have lost it. Never seen any confirmation it was pulled and not sure if the city would even confirm it publicly.

It appears so.  They have been called Tryon House for decades probably a good move for its longtime owner.
