Good Cameras To Buy

I am going to ask santa clause aka my parents for a new camera this X-mas. Anybody know of any good cameras for reasonable prices?

I like my Sony DC 7.... I thinkthey are up to DC-9 now. You generally can't go wrong with Sony. Its easy to use, and get the hang of.

i was listening to clark howard and he said higher megapixels in dig. cameras like 5 actually produce worse pictures than the 3 megapixel ones. go to his website he said he was going to post the names of the best cameras. theyre all under $120

Thats interesting. I hadnt heard that. The trick is to not get into the digital zoom when you are zooming in. That makes the pictures grainy.

Yeah. I never use digital zoom. What are some free programs that I can use to shrink my pics so they wont be so huge so ppl wont get mad at me.

The day I got my last camera (Sony DSC-717) I turned off digital zoom and haven't turned it back on. Digital zoom is nothing more than taking a magnifying glass tool in photoshop to the image, it's wrong to even call it a zoom!

If you use Microsoft Windows XP they have a powertoy you can use to resize your images. I'll link the download below. It's free and very small. After it's installed just right click on the image(s) that you want to resize and click on resize image(s). Very easy to use.
