Art Walk Follow-up. I had a great time once again. I think I'll have to make this a "must-see" monthly occassion. This time, I visited the following places in this order:

5. Drayton's in the historic Seminole Club | Duval & Hogan (on Hemming Plaza)

6. Hemming Plaza Jewelers & Street Gallery | 223 North Hogan

7. Zodiac Grill | Adams & Hogan

8. Lonnie Lamar Studios | 127 North Hogan

18. Mudville Grille | 120 West Adams

2. La Cena | 21 North Laura

3. Magnificat | Laura & Monroe, on Hemming Plaza

4. JMOMA | 333 North Laura, on Hemming Plaza

1. Headquarters | The Jacksonville Bank Building, Laura & Forsyth

24. Daniel James Hair Salon | 45 West Bay Street

25. Cafe Athena | 45 West Bay Street

9. Gallery L | Modis Building

11. Community Art Bazaar | Jacksonville Landing

19. The Rose Agency | 205 North Laura

23. Improv Jacksonville | 140 West Monroe Street

I must say everyone should try to get down and visit ImprovJacksonville. I wish they could have somehow found a way to open up along the Bay Street Town Center. They offer a very unique source of entertainment to the downtown area and would have been a great asset along the entertainment district.

Eclate is on East Bay and has a great atmosphere for each art walk with live music by Heavenly Noise. The London Bridge is actually in the Bay Street Town Center and has edgy art and live music. Florida Theatre and the current library are also good shows.

Push 2, a new gallery in the Dyal Upchurch joins us December as well as several new venues in the Cathedral District.

We are kicking around the idea of moving the walk to Friday because of increasing crowds and interest. This won't happen for several months if at all but I thought this forum might be the right place to get some thoughts on that.

best- TUC

Friday night would get more people in one respect, because most people don't go out much during the week. But the one good thing about Wednesdays is that you probably have less competion from other events, and movie-going, etc. I would certainly survey heavily the people that show up at the next one, to get their feedback.

What is the current attendance level anyway?

BTW, how did Florida/Georgia weekend go for the Burrito Gallery? Is it open permanently or just for that event?

We estimate 2500-4000 for this walk. Great turnout, weather. This weekend- Just a sample of the upcoming burritos and mostly for us to gauge the FL/GA game. It was as many people as I've ever seen that far from the stadium. Permanent opening at least 6 weeks to 8 weeks.

Have a great weekend. TUC
