Favorite area of downtown

I did not list areas such as madarin or ponte vedra because i only chose areas in the vicinity of downtown. So please keep your responses within 5 miles of the downtown core. thanks a lot.

i chose san marco because i love the area and feel of it. especially the plaza/square area

I chose downtown (between the Acosta and the Hart Bridges) because of the large amount of large historical buildings and the urban landscape. My second favorite area would be the Durkeeville neighborhood, which is the area just west of I-95. Although its run down, I like this area because of its overall density and the large amount of brick warehouses and industrial architecture over there. It would make a pretty nice warehouse district one day, whenever LaVilla builds out.

I love San Marco because I feel that it has potential to become a "Coral Gables" of Jacksonville. All of the shopping and dining is high-quality there and it is very close to doentown. Also, there is a lot of historical significance there.

I picked Riverside, because of the beautiful parks, gigantic trees, and historic homes. There's also alot of good urban development going on in Riverside. It's interesting to compare all these areas of town, as they all offer something unique.

I chose Ortega because of all the beautiful new landscaping and other improvements that have been done to the area lately. Riverside came in a close second, because it is experiencing a boom right now. Once Villa Riva and that large mixed use developement near Al's (forgot the name of it) are completed, the area may become another up-scale Jacksonville hot spot, like san marco.
