I do not like this this! There is no imagination in the utiliization of the site. So suburban cookie-cutter in appearance. Now it is very apparent that this is his first time doing some like this on his own. I hope they deny this.

Good, I'm not crazy about the design either.  They are proposing a gated entrance, which does not meet current city codes.

I don't have a clue what it is, but, there have been a few rumors over the years, so maybe one of them carries some weight.

Those rumors are three series production returning. Building a stamping plant, and building an engine plant.

But usually there is an event for when a vehicle starts coming down the line as well. Im just saying, don't get hopes up.

The article in today's Greenville News says the announcement is something not previously announced.

An article a few days ago in the Herald-Journal speculated that BMW would announce production of a "volume" model (like the 3- or 5-series) to better compete with Mercedes (currently outselling BMW in the US).  Mercedes recently expanded production of the C-class (3-series competitor) in Alabama.  The article says that BMW is determined to outsell Mercedes in the US again.  And a BMW spokesperson apparently said the announcement would not be for a new engine plant.

City of Greenville and Greenville County are requesting bids which are due April 29th for redevelopment of the former Armory on Laurens Road. It's 3.6 acres in size.

It's under contract currently for an apartment complex. The city rezoned it for that last year even though Fluor objected to it.

This won't be easy that for sure.  To be successful, it would require at least one more hotel to be built as well.  

 

 

 

First things first, however. When the TD Convention Center was partially renovated in 2006, the city received a $7 million bond from the State of South Carolina. If the city sells the TD Center, under current law, that money – plus interest – would have to be reimbursed to taxpayers.
