Western Blue Print moves HQ to KC

Western Blue Print is moving its headquarters from leased space at the Indian Springs Marketplace to a building it owns in downtown Kansas City, a company official said Monday.

The company is in the process of moving to a roughly 15,000-square-foot building at 1808 Main St. to save money on rent and avoid extra costs for driver delays caused by construction under way at Indian Springs, said Jeff Barthol, vice president of operations.

The company has leased 23,000 square feet at Indian Springs since February 2001, he said. It also owns a 6,000-square-foot building at 8830 Bond St. in Overland Park, which it will move part of its operations to in mid-January.

The company has had a smaller printing facility in the Kansas City building while its headquarters were at Indian Springs, Barthol said. The Kansas City building will house its main production facility, which will be open 24 hours a day starting early in January, he said.

The company has about 110 employees, about 60 of whom will work at the main office in Kansas City and the rest at the Overland Park office, Barthol said.
