I wanted to clarify my comments on the area around the Gervais bridge. On the Lexington side the police have done an excellent job at removing panhandlers from the area. The call boxes and the heavy police presence have worked wonders there. This article mentioned the call boxes but not a police presence. Columbia should provide the same level of policing.
