Detroit is at a tipping point, that exhilarating and perilous moment in time when either confidence in the city's revival becomes wildly contagious, or the city's grand comeback schemes collapse in a fiscal and political nightmare.

One prominent business leader in town ticked off a list of good omens for me this week:
