Windoze is a drag, so I got rid of it on one of my laptops and installed Ubuntu. Much more flexable,

no viruses, every app I need is free and the user interface is much less clumsy than that of XP.

I highly recommend it.

Ubantu looks cool. How are compatability issues between transferring windoze (lol) files and stuff to Ubantu?

Ubantu looks cool. How are compatability issues between transferring windoze (lol) files and stuff to Ubantu?

It's pretty easy to xfer the files from Windoze. I have not found anything so far that I use that I can't handle on Ubuntu. And I think OpenOffice is easier to used than the bloated Office.
