This is interesting the highest priced zip codes in each state based on median list price of houses and yes in NC it is 28207 Eastover Myers Park.  But there is another Charlotte on the list!

I guess Figure Eight Island doesn’t have its own zip code because it would surely be above this. In SC and GA it’s coastal islands too.

Georgia counties have a habit of claiming islands in their area to charge them high property taxes and yet not provide them services. So Sea Island, St Simons, Jekyll, and Little Cumberland  all fall under Glynn county which is not a wealthy county outside of those enclaves.

Famous old Charlotte commercials including Rev. Rob

http://www.charlottemagazine.com/Charlotte-Magazine/February-2016/5-Commercials-That-are-So-Charlotte/

Better read it or YOU will pay too much!

Story time!  I worked on the Apple Auto Sales commercials between 1995-2000s.  The ideas were all Rob's...he was one of the few clients who actually understood how to stand out in the local advertising crowd.  He bought the suit and wig himself – I believe the wig alone cost a few hundred bucks.

The interiors in the commercial in the link above were shot in the TWC (now Spectrum) building at 316 E. Morehead St.  The office was our promotion manager's.  There's a photo of my kids on the desk behind the "sales manager."  It was used as a prop and ended up featured in another one of the ads, which Jay Leno showed on his short-lived The Jay Leno Show in a "bad commercials" segment.

A lot of the people in the commercials were Rob's, but several were my co-workers.  The guy dressed up as a woman (referenced in the article) who said "Oh, Lawdy!" when he got smacked on the head was our traffic manager.

I didn't want to bump the 300/Kimpton thread for this question, but a friend of mine asked about the scrolling words feature on 300 and thought it was a good inquiry.  Ever since the marketing of that feature in the observer, I have not seen that scrolling text utilized.  I think it is a really cool feature - one that makes it stand out amongst every single tower in Uptown.  Just wondering if any of you see it and at what frequency (special events, daily, etc).

The heck is up with Charlotte Yelp? It seems like reviews are completely disconnected from actual quality. This wasn't the case a few years ago...

Yelp nationwide is largely full of egotistical crazy people.

"I paid a lot of money for a cheeseburger and we got cocktails at this like overrated hamburger bar and like I felt like the service was like SO RUDE, like the waitress forgot to ask if we wanted a third round of drinks and like we didn't tell her we did, we expect her to like know to ask us. I'm like totally giving this 2 stars. Also I'm like a VIP on Yelp so my thoughts really matter."

"Senora, she's a sensation
The reason for aviation."

According to Harry Belafonte, Senora invented the airplane. I guess Ohio and North Carolina can stop fighting about who can put it on their license plate.
