Description

This history of the Tower of London charts begins from its foundation by William the Conqueror in 1066-7 to its 're-medievalisation' in the 19th century and its fate during the two world wars. Throughout its long history, the Tower has attracted a number of important functions and its role as armoury, royal palace and fortress, prison and place of execution, mint, menagerie and jewel house is explained, as well as its modern role as tourist attraction and home to a thriving community.

I love how all that history is right in the middle of the city! It's kinda funny to see modern glass towers peeking out above the medival walls, lol.

London is an amazing city that I would really like to visit some day. I think that it is very historical with Big Ben and others.
