"Montgomery County"

4 posts in this topic

I've been doing some research here at work and I'm curious--is "Montgomery County" the most frequent-named county in metro areas?

Already, i've seen Montgomery Counties in Texas (Houston MSA), Alabama (Montgomery MSA), Pennsylvania (Philly MSA), Maryland (DC MSA), Ohio (Dayton MSA), and Tennessee (Clarksville MSA). It would be interesting to know who this "Montgomery" person was and the total number of people who live in these Montgomery Counties.

Go Rent Patton, he's the one that is the comic relief in the film :P

Honestly though it would go back centuries so I have no idea, could be several different people that just happened to share the same last name.

It is a Scottish as opposed to an English name. The Scotts settled in many of the areas you mention and named their counties accordingly to distinguish it from being English.
