Richest nation on earth with (arguably) the best healthcare assets on earth and we are the most obese and unfit nation in the industrialized world. 2005 New Year's resolution is to eat healthy.

Of course, the administration does nothing to the food industry to require more consistant plain clear labeling so that consumers can at least figure out what they are eating. The USA is also the only nation on earth with huge lobbiests from the Pork, Dairy, Pork, that pour hundreds of millions into election campaigns to insure that politicians do what they can to keep their products on the market.

Turn on saturday morning TV and look at the food advertized on there to small kids. It all starts there.

Remember our government loves big business over the interests of the individual.

I'm not sure this is something we can blame on the industry. People are to blame for their own eating habits, however it would certainly be better if we had more healthy choices available in general without having to go to specialized stores to find health foods.

And labeling should be up front and honest, of course.
