I remember it was 37-17. But that was a throw away game, you scored on a fake punt, and as for injuries the Panthers had 14 on the IR. Steve Smith, Kris Jenkins, Stephen Davis all pro bowlers were out the whole season, and we got ripped off in the Superbowl. + Bank of America is better than whatever stadium the Titans have!

^^

Columbus GA grew from 69.5 sq. miles and 152,218 population to 147.8 sq. miles and 164,235 population.

Are you talking about when it first merged or the city population today? If it is today's population, it's more like 190,000-200,000, somewhere in that range.

you are right, Louisville has at spent at least 830 million JUST IN 3 YEARS (2002-2005)in downtown investments right now. The new ones keep churning out. Louisvilles downtown, without a stadium, is kicking the crap out of nashvegas'.

Source:

http://64.233.187.104/search?q=cache:Cw1sJ...stment%22&hl=en

The biggest are

110 million Marriot Marquis convention hotel (17 STORIES)

75 million entertainment district loaded with restaurants, bars, and clubs (4th st Live)

50 Million WaterFront Park Place Condos (23 stories with 2-3 million dollar penthouse condos)

about 200 million in other new residential loft/apartment refurbishments and construction.

And that is only in the past 3 years. In the next 3 a similar 750 million-1 billion in investment is planned. Most of it now is private investors building restaurants and condos. So in a 6 year period (2002-2008) Louisville will have invested some 1.5-2billion in its downtown. Nashville cannot touch that. I challenge you to come here, my friend. You will not recognize the city (assuming youve been here before since you act like you know).

A new planned community with a tag of over 100 million (clarksdale)

I gave the tally for everything that is u/c NOW!... not everything from the past 3 years.

Nashville touches it easily. These figures are from City Paper and various other sources with no double counting or land acquisition costs. I know there are other private rehab/reuse projects already underway that haven't been included.

With public works, the figure skyrockets. It is included once below as already u/c... spread out over next 5 years.

Let's see, by my conservative figures and thumbnailing the math... that's over $3.5 billion over a span of 6-8 years. This doesn't even include Nashville's largest office center in Franklin/Brentwood. Furthermore, I don't have figures for MetroCenter with two new office buildings u/c... and the housing resurgence in East Nashville. Also, don't know the exact total for the buildout of the I-65/24 expansion. They are taking a break through downtown for two years to finish the outlying projects first.

It all adds up to urban development never before seen in Nashville.

Yikes! So the Marriott cost Louisville $110m? Must be damn nice inside.

Which one of these has the most potential of growing into a large urban area. Look at as may aspects of each city before voting!!!!!!!!!

I.E. New upcoming developments.

I left Charlotte out b/c everyone would vote for it. It is by far a step ahead of the rest. This will be more interesting.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
