The state has begun seeking buyers for its Labor Building in Detroit.

The Michigan Department of Management and Budget has issued an invitation to bid on the eight-story, 244,400-square-foot office building, vacated by employees as state offices have consolidated in Cadillac Place.

The building is on 3.2 acres and was built in 1913 for Henry Ford. Bids are due March 4, and the state plans to award the sale no later than March 18.
