I know that San Diegos downtown is at about 30,000 now and in 2030 is projected by planners to be at 90,000 at buildout.

So what is everyones downtown population going to be in the future?

I believe downtown Toronto is about 180,000 now and is growing at several thousand per year. It should be noted though that the area defined as "downtown" is much larger than most other cities - this 180,000 is in probably 4+ square miles.

Downtown Kansas City:

2000: 6,334

2004: 15,200

2005: 16,000-17,000

2010: 30,000-40,000

2030: 60,000-80,000

*If we continue our exponential growth downtown, the population in 2030 will be 500,000 which is HIGHLY unlikely*

Kansas City city:

2000: 441,545

2004: 452,000

2010: 500,000

2030: 700,000 (projected by official sources in Kansas City)
