19-story condo added to Buckhead

Ovation, a 19-story luxury condo highrise, is under construction near the Buckhead Village entertainment district. Trammell Crow Residential, one of the nation's largest private multifamily developers, broke ground on the 19-story high-rise in late 2004 in Buckhead Plaza, near the intersection of Peachtree Street and West Paces Ferry Road.

The total project cost is expected to be $46.5 million.

The controlled-access building will include one- and two-bedroom homes with nine- and 10-foot ceilings, as well as penthouses which will feature 22 foot ceilings in the living areas. The community will have concierge service, and residents will enter through a two-story lobby. The neo-classical masonry and stucco exterior will combine both classical and modern elements.

"We expect this project will help redefine Buckhead Plaza as a true mixed-use community," Alan Dean, Senior Managing Director for Trammell Crow Residential, said in a press release. "We're helping create a new place that's the best of Buckhead."

Ovation is just minutes from Phipps Plaza, Lenox Square, the Atlanta Financial Center and the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead.

Amenities will include a swimming pool on the terrace, a private courtyard, fitness center, clubroom, media room and business center. Some homes will have views of the downtown Atlanta and Lenox skylines, or views of the courtyard.

Individual units will have crown molding, garden tubs, patios, walk-in closets and laundry rooms with full-size washer/dryer connections. All but the smallest units will have separate dining rooms.

Kitchens in the condos will have European cabinetry, granite countertops and stainless steel and/or black electric appliances, including a hooded range/oven, dishwasher, double sinks and frost-free refrigerator with icemaker. The homes will be cable- and Internet-ready.

The community was designed by Preston Partnership, LLC architects, one of Atlanta's premier architecture firms. The project is expected to be complete in 2006. Pre-construction prices will range from $170,000 to the $300s.
