I don't know about from uptown, but I've seen the mountain ridgeline from the top of Crowders Mountain on exceptionally clear days.

Sort of on this tangent, does anyone have pictures from the top of BoA or Hearst looking out, mainly towards the mountains? I'd be interested in exactly how far you really can see on a clear day from up there.

On a clear fall day, you can see the Blue Ridge escarpment from above the 30th floors of all uptown buildings. I have a friend who works in Hearst on the 42nd floor. Her office is on the west side. Quite a view she has. Maybe I should have gone to law school.

See what you mean about ATL. A little offended, but I won't let it bother me. I still like Charlotte.

that pano leaves out ODell and Transamerica, but many people would still say "small" even with those in. I think one part of it, is that it is so compact, many of the older 10-20 story towers on the opposite side of the angle, are "missing", which for cities that have a little more space between towers, brings those smaller/older towers into the mix. I like charlotte's 2 ended skyline, but it is bound to change dramatically with all the proposed/u-c towers, especially the bank towers which continue to extend height on both ends of tryon.
