North Hills / Midtown area developments

finally this office tower is under construction and this whole Exchange development will give North Hills a run for its money.  I love the public spaces here lot more park like areas.

@KJHburgDon't you feel this development is more synergistic  to NH as apposed to  say competition?

Overall it is synergistic but for the office space it is more competitive but does not mean both can not survive.   This Exchange project seems to have a lot more open space than existing North Hills and Midtown NH but I doubt it will be able to compete on the retail front.  As for the Exchange I would try to attract some marquee restaurants to anchor their retail offerings.

That still looks great.  This area will eventually be fully contiguous with NH.

This is one of the best projects in the state.

Lot 17 redevelopment should start up this coming summer. Phase 1 will be the parking deck and 23 story residential tower followed by the 27 story tower shortly thereafter.

So much going on in North Hills on both sides of Six Forks.  The Cardinal looks great as well. 

First Citizens Bank needs to sell their old tower to Kane and move into Kane's tall downtown tower with their name emblazoned on it.  They are the 10th largest US bank start looking like it. 

Parking lot next to the Advance Auto tower soon to be 2 more apartment towers discussed above.   Lot 17 is what they call it evidently.

Midtown Exchange well underway the first office tower and it has great views of the North Hills skyline.  Plus the new North Hills building from 440.

North Hills skyline rivals many cities outside Charlotte and Raleigh in both Carolinas.

I am truly not a 'what about the traffic' guy but does anyone at all have concerns that maybe St Albans can't possibly in any way provide enough vehicle capacity to support this place? A two lane road with only two ways onto it?  This is where Raleigh's complete lack of planning is going to come home to roost finally.

I think BRT needs to come up Wake Forest Rd from downtown to this project the Exchange and then over to North Hills and loop back down Six Forks because this Exchange is a huge project at build out.
